Somebody miscounts the rooms, or arranges to. Either way two men end up close enough to hear each other breathe, with nowhere else to put themselves and a reason not to make a thing of it.
The device does the same job every time: it removes the choice. Nobody has to decide to get that close. The room decided for them.

What counts here
Two rules:
- An actual shortage. A hotel with one room left, a wedding weekend with no spare bed, a marriage with one shared room by design. Not two men who simply choose to share for no reason.
- Heat and ending stated for every book, including where the heat comes from reviews rather than a published scale.
What the heat ratings mean
The five point scale romance readers already use, lowest to highest. Every book below is marked on it.
- Glimpses and kisses a kiss at most, and no sex on or off the page
- Behind closed doors it happens, but the door shuts first
- Open door at least one scene you are in the room for, written without the explicit words
- Explicit open door two or more scenes, explicit, and a range of things happening
- Explicit and plentiful several explicit scenes spread through the book
Every MM one bed romance worth reading
Different reasons for the same shortage: a marriage arranged to keep the peace, a rival turning up at the door in the middle of the night, a wedding that went ahead by accident, and a stepbrother standing in as a plus-one.

AboutTwo of them have the bedrooms. The third turns up after a housing emergency with nowhere else to go, and the couch is supposed to be temporary. It doesn't stay that way: both of the others want him, and he ends up in both their beds instead.
DifferentAll three from the start, so nobody arrives as a guest in somebody else's relationship. The one bed isn't a trick to force two people together, it's three, which is the version of this trope almost nobody writes.

Do all of these end well?
Married to My Best Friend resolves fully within the book. Wed to the Barbarian and Garron Park end on stated cliffhangers, both picked up later in their series. Himbro ends HFN rather than a fully settled HEA. Each entry says which you're getting.
Which one should I read first?
Married to My Best Friend if you want it resolved in one book, and short. Wed to the Barbarian if you want the one bed built into the premise itself rather than an accident.
Is the one bed always romantic tension, or does anything darker happen here?
Garron Park is the one to know about going in: the shortage comes out of a violent family situation, and the book doesn't soften that to make the trope feel lighter.
