Which is lovely, and it isn't what happens when the difference is money. You can talk a man out of a mood. You can't talk him out of being broke.

- Different worlds. Money, class, country, a body. The gap is material, so it's still sitting there when the book ends.

DifferentThe comedy is the point and Dylan carries it, so if the voice doesn't land nothing else will. Gabe is genuinely unpleasant for a long stretch rather than gruff-but-secretly-lovely.

AboutA Russian mining specialist takes his first job outside Russia, on an assignment that keeps him on site for months with the same man in the other bed. The Australian is out and entirely unbothered: he doesn't cover up, he doesn't wait until he's alone, and he sees no reason to. The Russian is unpleasant about it for as long as he can manage, and spends the rest of the time pretending not to watch.
DifferentForced proximity with no roster to break it up. Nobody flies home for a week to cool off, so whatever happens between them is there again at breakfast. When the assignment ends one of them just flies home. The other flies to Russia and goes back to being somebody else.

Read it ifYou want the difference to be class and to be handled honestly, and you can stand a narrator who is cruel to the person he loves.
DifferentThe gap is education and accent and money, and Ash treats Darian as beneath him in front of other people. The book makes you sit in that rather than forgiving it early. Ash's illness is written from inside and never softened.

DifferentNobody in 1960 can say any of it out loud, so the whole book runs on what the two of them can get away with in a room. Grief is the other subject and it takes as much space as the romance.

Is grumpy sunshine the same as opposites attract?
It's one kind of it, and by now it's most of what gets published under the name. Grumpy sunshine is a difference in temperament, which means the book can close the gap: the warm one thaws the cold one and by the end they match. Where the difference is money or class or country, nothing thaws, and the two of them have to build something across it instead.
Which MM opposites attract should I read first?
Role Model if you want the big one and you want hockey. Rule Breaker if you want to laugh. Glitterland if you want class handled properly and can take a narrator who behaves badly. The Weight of It All if you want to feel better afterwards rather than worse.
Are they all explicit?
Most, not all. Everything with a romance.io rating here sits at three or four out of five, so open door at the least, and none of them shuts the door entirely. The Weight of It All has no rating and no review states one.
Is God of Fury an opposites attract romance?
