MM second chance romance
They already had it once, and lost it. That's the whole difference from every other trope here: nobody is finding out how they feel for the first time. They're finding out whether to do it again, with the ending already known and the damage already done.
What split them matters more than how they meet again. A drunken night nobody explained, a betrayal, a family that found out. The book has to earn the reunion by being honest about why it ended, not just why it's starting over.

What counts here
Two rules:
- An actual relationship the first time, not a crush or a near-miss. Something has to have ended for it to be a second chance rather than a first one delayed.
- Heat and ending stated for every book, including where the heat comes from reviews rather than a published scale.
What the heat ratings mean
The five point scale romance readers already use, lowest to highest. Every book below is marked on it.
- Glimpses and kisses a kiss at most, and no sex on or off the page
- Behind closed doors it happens, but the door shuts first
- Open door at least one scene you are in the room for, written without the explicit words
- Explicit open door two or more scenes, explicit, and a range of things happening
- Explicit and plentiful several explicit scenes spread through the book

Different reasons it ended the first time: a drunken night neither of them explained, a betrayal during an attack, a criminal double-cross, a case that's reopened, a decade apart, and a family that never knew.

What makes a book "second chance" rather than just a reunion?
An actual relationship the first time round, with a real reason it ended: a betrayal, an attack, infidelity, a decade of silence. If they never actually got together the first time, it's a different trope wearing the label.
Do they all end well?
All but one. Righteous Desires ends HFN, with a mild cliffhanger into Glorious Ruin. Everything else resolves HEA.
Which one should I read first?
Him if you want hockey and a RITA winner. Wilde Fire if you want ten years apart. Jackdaw if you want the reunion to run through anger rather than nostalgia.
Is the reason they broke up always someone's fault?
Mostly, yes, which is what makes the reunion earn its ending rather than just happening. Jackdaw involves a real betrayal. In Again, they were both lied to. The Understatement of the Year is closer to a failure of nerve under real danger than a clean villain, and the book treats it that way.
